Job Description

The University of Missouri, College of Human Environmental Sciences invites applications for an Assistant / Associate Professor of Human Development and Family Science and State Extension Specialist. This is full-time tenured/tenure track position with 80% Extension and 20% Teaching responsibilities. This position will be responsible for developing researched-based Extension programs, materials, and curricula in the area of parent and relationship education for divorced and separated parents and other subject matter related to human development and family life. This position will also teach at least one course per semester and mentor graduate students within the department.

The faculty member will serve as a member of the Department of Human Development & Family Science (HDFS). HDFS focuses on lifespan human development and families in a variety of relational, social, and cultural contexts. Faculty conduct basic and applied research, with a unique investment in the application of new knowledge to issues facing individuals and families. Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a PhD degree or equivalent. Experience in both resident and Extension teaching and program development preferred.

Selection Criteria
Candidates will be assessed based upon educational and professional achievement. Experience, communication skills, organizational skills, experience working effectively in diverse environments, and letters of reference will all be considered in selection of a candidate. Potential for the candidate to work within the academic and extension frameworks will be assessed.



Salary

Salary will be commensurate with training and expertise.
