Job Description Summary

Writes and produces videos, television segments and radio spots for the College.

Job Responsibilities


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

*Meets with clients to discuss the intended purpose, content and desired outcomes of the video project. Researches content material from internal and external sources, drafts scripts formulation, explores visual concepts and works with the client to shape visuals, focus message and review and finalize the product.

*Works with appropriate video production personnel, videographers, graphic artists and computer-based video editors to create the visual expression of the scripting.

*Writes and produces videos for the college's web site, custom videos to promote specific academic programs of the college, and videos for high profile college events such as the Presidential Scholarship Luncheon and Convocation.

*Writes and produces television programs and specials that are part of the programming for the college's television channel Smart TV.

Provides production support (camera, prompter, audio) for television programs and college events.

Serves as departmental liaison on video projects to outside clients (i.e. Recovery Recourses, Black Professional Association, Cuyahoga County Board of Health).

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


Associate's degree

Three (3) years of experience in television production related work.

Working knowledge of camera techniques, video editing, story boarding, graphic design and basic film and photography.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals internal and external to the college in a courteous and professional manner.

Proven ability to visualize and tell a story through words and the use of video and pictures.

Proven ability to be creative in the use of editing styles, music and graphics that will give each project an individual identity.

Must be able to lift heavy equipment up to 50 lbs. when involved in television productions.

Ability to work flexible and irregular hours.

Ability to perform assigned responsibilities, according to established practices and procedures with minimal supervision within the assigned time frame.

Must have sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Radio/Television, Film Production, or a related field.

Seven (7) years of experience in television production related work.

Experience with Avid Express HD & Final Cut Pro.

Recognition within field.

Target Hiring Rate/Salary Minimum of $24.70 per hour
