Position Summary: The Mechanical Engineer I/II will plan and conduct substantial modifications to facilities and systems using standard engineering techniques, codes and procedures. Coordinate and integrate facility modifications with operations.
Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; one to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience related to the position duties; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
To meet Engineering/Physicist Accelerator I minimums: Knowledge normally acquired by completing Bachelor's college degree program in Engineering or Physics; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience related to the position duties; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
To meet Engineering/Physicist Accelerator II minimums: Knowledge normally acquired by completing Bachelor's college degree program in Engineering or Physics; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience related to the position duties; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Typing Requirements (wpm):
Desired Qualifications: Experience with building controls; experience with CAD/CAE is required, experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks/ANSYS; experience in designing and installing cryogenic systems; experience in the design and fabrication of sophisticated research equipment; work experience in fabrication techniques, cryogenic systems, process cooling, and control systems.
