The School of Medicine (SOM) at the University of Virginia seeks a Director of Administrative Computing and Analytics. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer at the School of Medicine, the Director of Administrative Computing and Analytics is responsible for establishing the strategic direction, budget prioritization, and management of services for the innovative and effective use of computer technology supporting our administrative mission, including Decision Support, Finance, Human Resources, Space Management, Admissions and Registrar functions.
To achieve this goal the Director must understand the strategic direction and objectives set by the SOM and be able to work collaboratively with others at the University to oversee technology initiatives that support and enhance those goals while maintaining alignment with overarching Health System standards, technologies and strategies. The Director will lead the Business Intelligence and Data Management team in addition to managing and maintaining administrative applications and associated hardware. The Director will provide leadership and oversight to the planning and implementation of software solutions that support the strategic, institutional effectiveness, and organizational excellence initiatives at the School.
The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (4 years of relevant professional experience). In addition, required experience includes 3-4 years relevant technical and managerial experience leading Business Intelligence and Administrative Computing functions. Experience in an academic medical center, university, biomedical research or healthcare IT environment. Experience with process automation. Demonstrated understanding of Decision Support, Finance, Human Resources, Space Management, Admissions and Registrar functions. Ability to work in a complex environment with a highly heterogeneous mix of hardware, software, resources, and user needs.
