The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, in collaboration with the Markey Cancer Center, the College of Medicine, and University of Kentucky HealthCare, in Lexington, Kentucky is recruiting a mid-career ABP certified surgical pathologist. This possible tenure-track open-rank position is available immediately and will remain open until the appropriate individual is recruited. The successful candidate must have a MD or MD/PhD degree and will be expected to support the Markey Cancer Center's clinical trials and funded research programs.

In addition to surgical pathology clinical service by the pathologist, this individual would contribute to clinical and translational research programs, including the potential development of a translational research program in subspecialty pathology such as Breast, GU, GYN, Lung/pulmonary or GI pathology. The University environment includes team-based opportunities for leadership, the opportunity to teach students and residents, and to carry out service to patients, the College, University and community. There is a strong preference for a candidate with demonstrated leadership capacity and the ability to become a senior department leader.

The department is an integrated department of pathology with successful programs in anatomic and clinical pathology, with excellent educational programs for medical students, residents and fellows.

The successful candidate will be expected to have fellowship training in surgical pathology, experience in at least one of the identified subspecialty areas and demonstrate the ability to collaborate and possibly maintain or establish a translational research program in Breast, GU, GYN, Pulmonary or GI pathology within the department.

Required License/ Registration/Certification

• Board Certification by American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology.
• Completion of approved fellowship(s) in surgical pathology. Preferred focus on one or more of the following areas: Breast, GI, GYN, GU, Pulmonary pathology.
