Assistant Director, Marketing Communications

Position Description: Provides leadership for and develops, plans and executes integrated communication and marketing plans for Enrollment/Admissions, University colleges, schools and departments using appropriate tools and resources to maximize impact. Supervises marketing communications team, including account representatives and graphic media. Provides creative direction and counsel, ensuring marketing strategies are effectively implemented through editorial and promotional copy across all media, including print, social, and web. Writes and edits copy on an ongoing basis. Assists with campus events as needed. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field. Five years progressively responsible experience working in a marketing communications environment. Strong writing and editing skills. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of printing, publication design. Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust project timelines as required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field. Experience in communications, public relations, media relations and event management in an academic environment. Current knowledge and experience developing programs for social and digital media outlets. Experience in staff supervision.
