Duties: The senior research specialist of the iPS cell core will provide critical technical and logistic support for the director of the iPS core which will ensure the continuous productivity and success in establishing iPS cell lines for clinically relevant studies. Cell culture of adherent and suspension cells; generation and growth of both human and murine stem cells, including embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells; cellular transfection and transduction; cytogenetic and genetic analysis of cell lines; maintenance of cell repository; phenotypic assay of cultured cells; immunohistochemistry; microscopy. Molecular biology including design of DNA constructs; plasmid construction; cloning; plasmid preparations; design of oligonucleotides and primers; PCR; RT-PCR; TaqMan; use of molecular biology software including Vector NTI; bioinformatics skills including search of public databases.

Qualifications: A Master's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
