Essential functions of this position:
This position provides information system support, administrative support and technical assistance to the Office of the Registrar and other campus partner offices. This includes the testing of computing solutions and system upgrades to meet users’ needs. This position serves as a problem solver on existing software issues and future developments, with system testing and research used to reach solutions and to validate upgrade readiness. It is also responsible for performing cyclical office procedures such as end-of-term final grades processing, and academic standing calculation and processing.
N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in an Information Technology field and one year in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or graduation from a four year college or university with a major in an Information Technology area. Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Must possess excellent communication skills
Must be able to quickly learn and operate a variety of complex student information systems
Must be able to understand the functional needs of other system users
Must be able to independently problem solve in a logical, precise method by analyzing and interpreting procedural and technical system issues
Must be able to prioritize and work concurrently on multiple projects with multiple deadlines
Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical area and/or experience in higher education technology is preferred
Experience with operating Banner Student, Degree Works, and Image Now systems is preferred
Experience with PL/SQL to develop reports or analyze data is preferred
Experience with SQL-based reporting tools is preferred
Recruitment Range: Up to $51,412
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 72
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
Months Per Year: 12 Months
Work Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
