The The Center for Anatomical Sciences (CAS) Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Laboratory Assistant to join our team. Under the supervision and on various occasions' assistance of the Anatomical Services Coordinator, the Anatomy Laboratory Assistant/s responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to::* Be responsible for assistance in maintenance and support services of the Gross Anatomy Laboratory, The Bio Skills Laboratory and the Anatomical Preparation room.* Provide support to anatomy faculty for ongoing educational activities such as to assist in set ups for examination preparation.* Perform related duties deemed essential to the support of the Willed Body program and other aspects in the Center of Anatomical Sciences on an "At Need Basis".* Assist/perform in maintenance of the Gross Anatomy Laboratory, Bio Skills and preparation facilities (e.g., floors, sinks, counters, walls, storage areas, cadaver tables, equipment, computers/monitors, and other teaching aids.* Assistance with practical examination preparation.* Wash and store dissection equipment and or instruments.* After the preparation/preservation of cadavers, assist in cleansing/washing and storage.* Stocking of shelves and containers with supplies and miscellaneous items.* Assist with inventory of supplies and materials.* Mixes water and detergents or acids in container to prepare cleaning solution according to specifications.* Washes, rinses, and dries glassware and instruments.* Scrubs walls, floors, shelves, tables, and sinks.* Sterilizes glassware and instruments.* Fills tubes and bottles with specified solutions and applies identification labels.* Labels and files microscope slides.* Arranges specimens and samples on trays to be placed in incubators and refrigerators.* Delivers supplies and laboratory specimens to designated work areas.* Maintains inventory reports and logs.* Other duties as assigned.* Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the Department.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
