The UNT System Internal Audit Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Administrative Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:This position is either responsible for non-routine administrative support for a unit within a department that includes budget tracking and reporting (larger, more varied accounts), purchasing, travel, correspondence, data compilation, reporting, calendaring/scheduling, website maintenance and property control functions OR performs all of the duties previously listed, except budgetary duties, for an entire department. Duties may include:* Providing other administrative support functions to departments and/or programs that have varying needs based on the nature of specialization.* Position has more ownership of processes, with increased authority for decision making. * Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. * Resolves most questions, including some where only limited standardization exists. Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.* Provide proof reading.* Maintain departmental record retention. * Maintain department contact sheet, organizational chart, website updates.* Coordination of staff meetings.* Oversee student employees (schedules, timesheets, etc.). * Asset Management.* Complete departmental work orders.* Maintain and order office supplies.* Process various purchase orders, interdepartmental transfers, travel accommodations and travel vouchers.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. Associate's Degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:* Knowledge of (or ability to rapidly assimilate and retain) institutional operating procedures, organization and policies.* Knowledge of business principles, practices and techniques.* Knowledge of electronic information systems and accounting systems.* Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.* Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.* Ability to keep complex records; to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.* Strong ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.* Ability to act with considerable initiative.* Supervisory skills.* Excellent written and oral communication skills.* Knowledge of safe working procedures and security measures related to work performed and work supervised.
