The Business Information Liaison (12-month full-time appointment) has a strong commitment to service and learning for the students, faculty, staff of the University, and community. This position exercises broad, independent judgment and authority under the direction of the Eagle Commons Library (ECL) department head.The Business Information Liaison is a member of the UNT Eagle Commons Library which provides individualized library service through instruction and student engagement. This position serves as the library's representative to the College of Business (CoB) and the Department of Economics. The position works collaboratively to develop innovative approaches to marketing, outreach, instruction and research assistance for the business and university community. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to continual professional development through scholarly research including publications, presentations, and participation and leadership in the work of relevant professional associations. SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES* Actively engages with faculty and students of the College of Business and Department of Economics to provide specialized reference and instruction services* Develops and markets user-centric library resources, services and programs for diverse stakeholder* Advances university and library goals through professional partnerships; works collaboratively to develop training, services and outreach activities focused on business research* Serves as Subject Librarian to students and faculty of the College of Business and Department of Economics by providing specialized, embedded and individual reference consultations and library instruction; developing web content and library instructional materials; providing communication and outreach; facilitating collection development for subject areas; participating in activities of the Subject Liaisons Work Group.* Preference for participating in a team-based, collaborative work environment with librarians and support staff to forward the mission of the ECL. * Provides training for staff on topics relating to subject librarian areas.* Participates in department activities at the ECL including campus and community outreach activities; projects as assigned; and strategic planning of ECL Department.* Develops collaborative networks.* Stays current with professional and business and economics trends and issues.* Maintains a collegial working relationship with other library departments and divisions.* Meets the requirements for scholarly, creative, and professional activities.* Meets the requirements for service to the libraries, university, and the community.* Fosters positive relations with faculty, students, and staff and promotes the University's and Library's commitment to diversity.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
