The University of North Texas Health Science Center Police Department is seeking to hire a Police Sergeant to join their team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Supervising sworn police officers, public service officers, and others engaged in the protection and safeguarding of human lives and personal and public property. * Duties include the supervision and responsibility for on-the-job training and orientation of newly hired police officers. * Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. * Functions as a first-line supervisor over staff. * Oversees the day-to-day operations of groups of employees. * Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
