Fellow (Post Doc)
General Description of Position:
The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a Fellow (Post Doc) to implement a landscape scale ET and crop productivity model, to fulfill a research plan supported by the Ogallala Aquifer Program. This person will work closely with investigators in Manhattan, KS; Colby, KS; and Bushland, TX. This project will synthesize current knowledge of ET mapping and working hypotheses of turbulent transfer into physically-based modeling tools which can be scaled (30 m to 10 km) to provide information regarding consumptive water use, net primary productivity, and yield formation for multi-year crop systems ranging from dry-land to full irrigation.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering field. Capability to implement numerical models using computer software and thorough familiarity with large-volume scientific data and statistical analysis capability.
Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
At least two years' experience with evapotranspiration modeling and satellite data processing.
Physical Activities and Environmental Conditions :
Speaking, walking/running, keyboarding, sitting, repetitive movement, standing and writing.
