Job Description:

The University of Florida seeks candidates for an Assistant Vice President for Business Services within the Office of Business Affairs. The University of Florida is a major, public, land-grant university. Reporting to the Vice President for Business Affairs, the Assistant Vice President for Business Services has responsibility for the operational, fiscal, programmatic and administrative activities of auxiliary departments, including the contract services for the UF bookstore, food services and vending, mail and document services, and ID card services. These vital campus services produce annual revenues exceeding $70 million. The Assistant Vice President oversees an operating budget of $12 million and a staff of more than 40 employees. The position's major functions include budgeting, financial analysis and reporting; contract negotiation and administration; oversight of facilities operation and maintenance; coordination with corporate business partners; marketing, public relations and new venture development; development, application and utilization of computer/technology infrastructure and services; staff management and training; and liaison to external organizations and internal campus units.

The Business Services Division has an impact on just about every aspect of life at the University of Florida on a daily basis through a variety of conduits, including the Gator 1 identification card, vending machine purchases, campus printers, mail services, dining services, textbooks and the ever-present orange and blue Gator gear that permeates campus. We're looking for someone who understands the importance of making each of these experiences great and wants to make a substantial impact immediately.

Advertised Salary:

Expected starting salary is commensurate with education and experience. The University of Florida offers a generous benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in business, accounting, retail management or a directly-related field is preferred. Demonstrated experience in negotiating and managing multi-million dollar contracts also is preferred. Record of progressively increasing responsibilities that includes experience in profitability analysis, supervision, retail management and facilities administration is highly desired.
