Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The School of Business offers AACSB accredited programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has an enrollment of over 900 students. The Accounting Department is among five of the school’s departments, which include Computer Information Systems, Finance-Economics & Decision Sciences, and Hospitality and Tourism Administration.The department of Business Administration is the largest of the School’s five departments with program concentrations in management, marketing and entrepreneurship.
Primary Purpose of Position
To provide quality teaching and research in accounting systems, data analytics and audit, preferably; as well as beginning and intermediate accounting, including online instruction. Other duties include curriculum development, assurance of learning assessments, active scholarship and ongoing service.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preference will be given to candidates with relevant teaching and/or professional business experience and professional certification(s). Candidates with teaching interests in accounting systems/data analytics and audit are preferred, but candidates with other areas of expertise will be considered. Instructional duties encompass teaching, curriculum development, participation in the program’s assurance of learning activities, and may include on-line instruction. In addition to instructional duties, faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities. Quality productivity in academic research is required.
An earned Ph.D in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution and demonstrated potential for quality teaching and research. Candidates who are ABD may be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by August 15, 2017
