Assistant Professor - Health Sciences
The successful candidate is expected to teach curriculum in our established undergraduate and graduate Health Sciences Programs, conduct and publish meaningful research in their area of expertise, advise students, and engage in professional, department, and university activities.
Work distribution will be 40% research, 40% teaching, 20% service; position will teach 15 credits/academic year as part of 40% teaching distribution.
The position requires significant experience and training in health promotion, health education, public health or closely related fields with an emphasis on physical activity and nutrition, obesity, and/or prevention and treatment of chronic disease.
The successful candidate will have experience teaching in the following areas: health promotion/education core competencies (behavior change theory, program planning/evaluation, intervention methods, community health, etc.) and/or courses related to healthy eating and active living.
Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate evidence of successful scholarship and community collaborations.

- Terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DrPh) in Health Promotion/Education, Public Health, Community Health, Community Nutrition or closely related field.
- Professional certification(s) such as MCHES/CHES or CPH.
- Experience teaching and/or conducting research in the areas of healthy eating and active living.
- Experience with teaching and/or research in sustainable food and/or physical activity environments.
