Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Department of Physics is currently composed of thirty eight tenured/tenure-track faculty who perform creative, highly visible research in fundamental and applied science. Our faculty blend fundamental physics and applications, theory and experiment, and integrate research and innovative teaching to create a vibrant intellectual atmosphere within a welcoming and collegial environment.

Essential Job Duties: This position is responsible for proactively monitoring account balances and workflow; ensuring that expenses and revenue are coded to the appropriate project and account; ensuring that monies are spent in accordance with funding guidelines. Other responsibilities include entering financial transactions such as vouchers, requisitions, journal vouchers; maintaining a comprehensive and accurate spreadsheet of all revenue and expenses posted to departmental accounts; tracking College/University commitments to ensure all funding is received. The position independently resolves issues when problems are identified. Incumbent must be able to analyze financial data and provide reports and projections to the Business Officer, Faculty, and staff. To that end, the incumbent should be experienced using excel and able to create informative reports and projections for faculty and for leadership.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: Proficient in excel - ability to use formulas, Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, wolf reports or similar systems.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Experience with Microsoft word, excel and PS Financials, especially wolf reports, Kaba for biweekly payroll.
