Duties: Penn Global, the University's central office responsible for coordinating and supporting global engagement across the campus, is seeking candidates for an Associate Director. In conjunction with the Vice Provost for Global Initiatives and the Executive Director of Penn Global, the Associate Director will manage day-to-day responsibilities for Penn's Office of Global Initiatives. S/he will oversee the implementation of key funds to support University global engagement, such as the Global Engagement Fund and the Penn China Research and Engagement Fund, and provide strategic direction to Penn Global's internal and external outreach efforts. The Associate Director will have primary responsibility for developing and implementing a process for grant and stewardship reporting and will work closely with Penn Global Senior Staff to identify and pursue funding opportunities for Penn Global activities. The Associate Director will manage communications activities for the division, providing leadership on digital communications, social media outreach, and development of more specialized communication materials. S/he will also supervise the Global Fellows and develop and implement special projects and new initiatives as directed by the Vice Provost and/or Executive Director.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree or higher level degree in relevant field preferred, plus 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidates will have demonstrated interest in global affairs and working with diverse and multicultural populations. Management/supervisory-level experience in academic, non-profit, or relevant corporate setting. Experience with grant-writing, proposal development, philanthropy and stewardship activities, and narrative and financial reporting on global projects. Strong written and oral communications skills and presentation skills. Knowledge of communications and building effective web presence preferred. Ability to be self-directed and to work with minimal supervision essential. Ability to work under stressful conditions and with a diverse faculty and staff constituents.
