Position Summary: The main duties of this position are to work with a dynamic group of neuroscientists studying different aspects of mouse development and disease-related pathophysiology. There is a focus on pattern formation, cell migration, axon growth and guidance, cell death, glial biology, stem cell development, neurodegeneration, and neuronal architecture. Responsibilities will also include providing expert guidance to lab users within the neuroscience community at UNC, ensuring proper use of the confocal and multiphoton imaging systems, maintaining the microscopes, assisting investigators with image acquisition, and researching new technologies in order to keep lab equipment up to date. Other research aspects of the position include performing fluorescence spectroscopy and managing the recharge collection and administrative functions of the core facility.

Education Requirements: A Ph.D., M.D. or Master's degree is required, as is a minimum of 3 years directly related microscopy experience.

Qualification and Experience: Previous experience with confocal, multiphoton and widefield imaging systems required.
