Position Summary: The Michigan State University Counseling Center (MSUCC) Psychologist will participate in a shared case management system that supports collaboration and consultation with other mental health professionals and health service clinicians. The psychologist will provide direct service and outreach to a diverse student population. The psychologist provides comprehensive psychotherapy services to clientele and will facilitate individual counseling and group services and provide advocacy and crisis intervention services. This position also provides consultation services to MSU faculty and staff regarding mental health. The psychologist is responsible for the completion of counseling service documentation.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing graduate study beyond a Bachelor's degree, such as a Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, one-year, pre-doctoral, full-time, APA-accredited internship, and experience in counseling/psychotherapy with college-age/ professional students; six months to one year of related experience in consultation, outreach, and educational/instructional activities in a university counseling center setting; and/or experience in a non-university clinical setting, including community mental health or inpatient treatment settings; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Full licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Michigan; or license eligible in the State of Michigan within eighteen months from date of hire.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Design and implementation of psycho-educational programming and outreach experience; experience in brief psychotherapy and crisis intervention; experience in training and supervision; one-year post-doctoral internship. Proficiency in a language other than English; demonstrated competency or expertise in one or more specialty areas: working with multicultural and international populations; working with LGBT populations; working in an Integrated Mental Health setting; Mood/Bipolar Disorders; Eating Disorders; Autism Spectrum Disorders; Trauma, including PTSD and complex trauma; Psychological Testing (e.g., ADHD assessment), Substance Abuse Disorders.
