Position Summary: The Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University has an immediate opening for a seasoned PHP developer who is detail-oriented and takes pride in delivering high quality software; leads the development of internal and external Web applications and is responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle; must be comfortable meeting with clients, developing requirements, documenting, and executing on projects; day-to-day activities include: responding to user support requests in our ticketing system; triaging issues from our bug tracking system; meeting with stakeholders; new code development; coaching and mentoring full-time and student employees; representing the College at developer specific campus forums.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in web application development (SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP); solid understanding of Content Management Systems such as WordPress or Drupal; expertise with PHP frameworks such as Zend or Symfony; basic experience in UNIX shell scripting and administration; experience with responsive Web design; proficiency with version control systems such as SVN or Git; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Experience in the following areas is a plus but not required: HTML5, .Net, MongoDB, ADA compliance, Salesforce development; excellent customer service skills; ability to multitask and prioritize work across multiple projects; ability to work well under pressure and independently to deliver projects on time; ability to multitask and prioritize work across multiple projects.
