Position Summary: The position will work within Analytics and Data Solutions group at Michigan State University. The position will be working on the cutting edge projects that MSU is trying to implement in a short time frame focusing on data analytics, data science and data analysis deliverables. This person will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences. Additionally, this person will be able to clearly articulate analytics results and methods to non-technical audiences. Activities may include development of data representations and visualizations as well as statistical data modeling, predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in mathematics, statistics, or related information technology field, with coursework in business or information technology; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing data analytics; development of statistical data models used in predictive and prescriptive analytics; developing analytical solutions with customers on projects involving complex and ambiguous use cases; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Master's in Statistics, Math Computational Science, Computer Science or Informational Technology desired. The ability to model and analyze data in statistical tools such as SPSS, SQL, R, SAS, Python, or similar. The ability to use data retrieval and manipulation, statistical, data mining and machine learning tools desired. Excellent communication skills, including, presenting, editing, and writing as well as accuracy and attention to detail required.
