Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Head Residence Counselor as a resource to pre-freshmen students during the hours they are in the residence halls. Responsibilities include: conducting nightly rounds to ensure the safety of all residents; maintaining an environment conducive to learning; providing personal, social, and academic peer counseling to students; assisting in the critical enforcement of policies, practices, and procedures; providing a reasonably safe learning environment for the students within the residence halls; encouraging students to take responsibility of their residence halls; attending regular weekly staff meetings; other duties as assigned by the Director/Coordinator of Summer Academic Institute. Resident Assistants are required to live in the residence hall for the duration of the five-week summer program including weekends, and participate in a residential summer staff orientation preceding the summer program. Residential life experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Skidmore College upperclassmen in good academic standing.

Preferred Qualifications: Residential life experience.
