Alfred State welcomes applications for the position of Programmer/Analyst. This full-time position, in the Technology Services department, is responsible for working as a team member in the development, management, implementation, and integration of software applications and reports to the Assistant Director of Technology Services.
The Programmer/Analyst will work as a team member in the support of Ellucian Banner software, the college's student information system, and will be responsible for all aspects of developing, programming, integration, testing and implementation of applications to support Banner; responsible for the application system interfaces to various ancillary software, including the data integration and synchronization between systems; analyzing user needs and developing solutions to meet user requirements; provide user training for questions pertaining to the users use of programs, systems, data access tools and data files; develop reports using database reporting products; work closely with various technical and functional departments as needed; working extended and /or flexible hours, including nights and weekends may be required on a project-by-project basis; some overnight and potentially multi-day travel will be required.
At the time of appointment, the candidate must possess an Associates Degree. Knowledge and understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL); The willingness and ability to function as part of a dynamic team.
