Visiting Assistant Professor of French (one-year)
Colby College is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of French for a one-year (five course) appointment to begin September 1, 2017. Area of specialization open. PhD preferred; ABD considered. Native or near-native abilities in French and English, an excellent teaching record, and promising scholarship in the specialist field expected. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience teaching French language at all levels, including courses in phonetics or translation. Secondary expertise that complements existing areas of specialization in the department is highly desirable (e.g. visual culture and global studies with an interdisciplinary focus). The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic department committed to providing the best possible instruction to students. The department is also especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the campus community.
