Visiting Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Bucknell University seeks applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor position starting in August 2017. This position is available as a result of sabbatical leave replacement, with possible reappointment pending Administrative approval. The application materials of successful candidates will:

  1. Articulate their plans to provide outstanding classroom and laboratory instruction in core structural engineering and mechanics courses.
  2. Describe how he or she will be able to contribute more broadly to the civil engineering curriculum by teaching a foundation engineering course, material science course, or other common civil engineering courses, such as numerical methods or graphics
  3. Describe how he or she will be able to work successfully with a diverse student body.

 

At time of appointment, candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate or be ABD in civil engineering or a closely-related engineering field.
