GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform varied secretarial and clerical work unique to the Bioengineering Department requiring initiative, confidentiality, and independent judgment.   Keeps official records, and compiles budget data for the department, supervises work-study employees, processes office forms, prepares correspondence/documents, liaisons with visitors/students/co-workers, completes purchasing transactions, applies administrative policies and assists with the organization and efficient operation of the department office.

Follows the University‚Äôs best practices to build and/or support student academic success and retention, and assist in meeting strategic objectives for persistence and timely graduation of all the student population.    

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have at least 3 years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in office work or any equivalent combination of the required experience and list of substitutions as provided on the state job specifications, which can be found at http://www.mass.edu/foremployees/classificationspecs/classspecs-pers.asp#C.
