Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer - Java

Location: Irving, TX

SKIDATA is looking for strong software engineers to join our growing team. We are currently doing business in 90+ countries and expanding. You will be working with the latest tools and designing, developing and rolling out software for our global customers. SKIDATA is committed to developing an environment where you can put your ideas and talents into our new products to benefit our customers all over the world. We strongly encourage face to face interaction with other engineers and there will be an opportunity to travel domestically as well as internationally to share ideas and to work with various teams in the US and abroad.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative and high quality software solutions independently or with minimal supervision
  • Design and develop J2EE applications and components
  • Create detailed technical specification and software documentation
  • Research and troubleshoot problems in the software
  • Assume technical responsibility for identified core parts of the service product
  • Participate in effort estimations and support project planning activities
  • Act as point-of-contact for technical product inquiries
  • Report design and development tasks using enterprise level reporting tools; i.e. JREPORTS
  • UML Data modeling and DWH experience a plus
  • Mentor and partner with other team members on technical matters

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 5-8 years software development background
  • Solid Java programming experience
  • J2EE, Web technologies
  • JAVA, SQL and Relational Databases (ideally Oracle), Distributed systems, Cloud computing, Software design and Architecture
  • Ability to quickly isolate and troubleshoot issues
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Minimum B.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science
