Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a VP of Accounting and Reporting to lead the evolution of our finance and accounting operations. The successful candidate will have the energy, focus and discipline to lead the continuous improvement of our finance and accounting team, processes and systems, while also possessing the experience and vision to lead the development of a next generation financial platform that will support our aggressive future growth plans.

This will be a highly visible executive role within the company. We will manage by metrics, and make informed , data driven decisions at all times, and the VP of Accounting and Reporting will be tasked with making sure teams across the enterprise have the right metrics at the right time to make the right decisions.

The VP of Accounting and Reporting must be a leader with the necessary experience in building a high performing accounting department that can successfully strike the balance between day to day accounting needs, management information requests, and compliance/audit functions. We seek a candidate with a demonstrated ability to properly mix people, process and technology to deliver consistent and accurate financial information in the most efficient way possible.

This is a challenging role with tremendous visibility and room for growth, and a generous compensation package will be provided for the right individual.

Responsibilities

Manage the accounting, financial planning, tax and treasury activities across the enterprise

Implementation of accounting systems and controls capable of supporting all business operations, including successful implementation of corporate ERP and related systems

Implement operational best practices across the accounting teams to achieve industry-leading efficiency across all critical functions of the department

Design business planning and forecasting procedures that drive consistent results

Develop key performance indicators and measures supporting strategic directives

Lead the accurate, complete and timely delivery of all financial statements and publication of financial results

Lead all aspects of financial risk management to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and audit requirements

Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies

Design and implement reliable control systems to ensure business continuity and compliance with corporate policies

Prepare financial results and analysis for dissemination to key stakeholders on a recurring basis.

Lead and develop a high-performance team that partners with business units to help meet overall growth and profitability targets

Prepare of financial statements and providing timely and accurate analysis of results versus approved budgets/forecasts

Facilitate financial analysis and modeling to support strategic and tactical decisions

The successful candidate should have 7+ years of progressively responsible experience leading the financial operations of a company with more than $100MM+ in revenue, or 10+ years experience at a Big Four accounting firm. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, keen problem solving skills and robust work ethic to succeed in this role.

MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation is preferred. Experience in the construction industry, preferably with asset-intensive businesses, is also preferred. Candidates with diverse industry experience outside construction are encouraged to apply
