Primary Duties: 

The University Wellness Center (UWC) at The University of the South is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the health and well being of Sewanee students, within an integrative healthcare model, by providing comprehensive and excellent medical services, behavioral health and counseling services, and wellness promotion to the student body. The UWC is comprised of a team of mental health professionals in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and medical professionals in Health Services. The UWC/CAPS is seeking a Staff Clinician who will play an integral role in our multidisciplinary team, be responsible for providing direct clinical services within a culturally competent framework, and participate in outreach initiatives and activities, as needed. The successful candidate will have experience working with developmental and identity concerns, as well as experience working with substance abuse issues, eating disorders, and trauma.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Provide clinical services, including individual assessment to determine treatment recommendations, short-term individual and group therapy, and referral services
  • Provide crisis management that includes evening and weekend on call coverage
  • Participate in outreach services to meet the mental health needs of the University community, including educational workshops, personal skill development groups, consultation and training programs for faculty, staff, and student leaders

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy 
  • Must be licensed or license-eligible as a mental health professional in the State of Tennessee

Experience:    

  • 2-5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Must be licensed or license-eligible as a mental health professional in the State of Tennessee

Licenses/Certification: Must be licensed or license-eligible as a mental health professional in the State of Tennessee
