Posting Summary:
The School of Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks a Technical Business Analyst to design, develop, and support various data warehouses for the School. This position will create stored procedures and develop complex queries, format reports, maintain existing as well as develop new reporting solutions to support the SOM users supporting various missions. The incumbent will provide primary support to users of the SOM data warehouse and reporting technologies.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related discipline, or eight years of equivalent experience in the relevant field. A combination of education and experience may be considered. In addition, qualified candidates must have three years developing database and reporting solutions and analyst experience. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Office applications is expected. Candidates are also expected to have relational database design and programming experience SQL, TSQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, etc., and possess sound knowledge of established report writing and programming interfaces to support print-ready, parameterized, and analytical report writing tools. The ability to analyze business processes and reflect those in both database design and reporting solutions is essential. Excellent communication written and verbal skills are required as this position does work closely with end users. Three years of customer elicitation experience, and experience with analysis of end user reporting requirements, are preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Relational database design and programming ? SQL, TSQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, etc.
2. Possess sound knowledge of established report writing and programming interfaces to support print-ready, parameterized, and analytical report writing tools.
3. The ability to analyze business processes and reflect those in both database design and reporting solutions.
4. Excellent communication written and verbal skills are required as this position does work closely with end users.
