Duties: The Brain Behavior Lab (BBL) at Penn Medicine and the Lifespan Brain Institute (LiBI) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Penn Medicine are seeking a full-time bright and enthusiastic research-oriented Application Developer to join their neurocognitive team (http://www.med.upenn.edu/bbl/bbl_cnb.html). The Computerized Neurocognitive Battery (CNB) is a web-based application of tests that measure accuracy and speed of performance in major domains of cognition, including social-cognition. The CNB facilitates cutting edge research in cognitive neuroscience and has been extensively used worldwide. The application developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, support and training for CNB software, including development of standalone, web based and mobile applications. The position requires independence, initiative, self-direction with minimal supervision, and the ability to conscientiously set goals and timelines. CNB provides a challenging and dynamic environment that offers programmers the chance to work with state-of-the-art technology, use advanced software design and development techniques, and improve their coding skills while contributing to a better understanding of human brain and behavior.

Qualifications: Bachelors in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field and at least two years of experience as a programmer/analyst in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Additional years of experience are strongly preferred. Development experience in .NET framework or HTML5 is preferred. Mobile application development for the iOS, Android or other mobile platforms will be considered an added advantage.

* 2+ years of experience in application and software design and development using technologies like Perl, JAVA, .NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML5, XML, SQL.
* Experience developing scalable applications
* An understanding of OS X, UNIX and Microsoft Windows operating systems required.
* Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) required.
* Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn and master new technologies as needed, such as the mobile app development
* Detail oriented and analytical
