    DESCRIPTION


    The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a post-doctoral fellow position in the laboratory of Dr. S. Ahmad Sajjadi MD, PhD beginning early 2017. The appointment is for 1 year with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance. We are seeking a highly motivated investigator with previous experience in neuropsychological assessments. Priority will be given to candidates with a recent PhD in neuroscience, psychology, or related fields and strong organizational and communication skills. The main purpose of this appointment is to establish a cohort of atypical dementia syndromes (mainly frontotemporal dementia) at the University of California, Irvine who will undergo regular clinical and neuropsychological assessments. Assessment of language and spontaneous speech will be a focus of the research and therefore, background in disorder of language will be desirable as is previous experience in neuro-imaging acquisition/analysis since the project will include structural MRI and PET scans. The position requires an individual who is an effective team player, highly organized, and innovative.

    Requirements:
    Candidates must possess an advanced Degree (MD or PhD) by or prior to appointment start date.

    Additional Information:
    Applicants who have a willingness to get involved with IRB communications, prior publication (first author), and strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.

    Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
