Bachelor's Degree. Four [4] years of directly related full time experience in a project management capacity. Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project, JIRA, CA Clarity, etc. Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies. Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management, project management techniques and tools.

Proven experience in resource management, strategic planning, leadership and process improvement. Proficient with MS Office Suite and/or Google Suite. Formal training in project management. Good presentation skills. Incumbent will be expected to take the PMP exam by the completion of their 1st year of employment. *

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree. Additional years of directly related project management work experience. Familiar with .net programming languages, Oracle, MS SQL databases. Prior supervisory experience. Budget experience. Experience with Business Process Re-Engineering. Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Google Apps for Education. Knowledge of Telephony systems, including VoIP and Unified Communication. Six Sigma, ITIL, SCRUM, or similar certification in the field of Project Management. PMP Designation.

Primary Purpose: The incumbent is expected to lead complex projects involving administrative, academic or clinical processes and systems. The incumbent must plan, execute, and complete projects according to PMBOK (Project Management Book of Knowledge) standards, observing strict deadlines and completing work within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Incumbent must possess outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Strategic and analytical thinking skills with an ability to solve problems and make effective decisions. Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverable s that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations and progress to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverable s.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the
  • project.
  • Conduct project Lessons Learned sessions and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management Systems (Clarity, AtTask, TeamDynamix, Innotas,)
  • Support fellow Project Managers, and supervise, support, and advise
  • student(s) who work in roles supporting the Project Managers.
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.

In addition to the duties above, those with the PMP Designation will also be responsible for the following:

Manage/administer Project Portfolio Management (PPM) system. Direct and manage multiple, concurrent programs, which consist of numerous projects being managed in a coordinated manner to obtain benefits and control that which would otherwise not be available by managing them individually. Develop new processes, procedures and best practices for the PMO group including a project prioritization and governance model that the P50F executive committee and the PMO will utilize Develop content for enhancing PPM and PMO websites, maintaining monthly updates for each project; integrate project specific calculations and metrics.

Special Notes: This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
