Position Information: The School of Business at the University of California, Riverside is a nationally-ranked and internationally-recognized AACSB-accredited business school. The School is positioned as a center of excellence in business education through cutting-edge research on the business challenges of the 21st century.The Director of Academic Advising & Student Services will be responsible for creating and maintaining the Academic Advising and Student Services program for the Graduate Programs Office in the School of Business. This position will supervise one Graduate Academic Advisor and one Student Services Specialist. In addition, this position will provide high level academic and student services advising to students in the School of Business' five graduate programs.
Minimum Requirements: Ability in persuasion and leadership.
Skills in monitoring/assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements.
Project management skills.
Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.
Knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Skills in social perceptiveness.
Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
