Under limited supervision, reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Advancement Services and part of the Advancement Services Management Team (ASMT), the primary focus of the Senior Director of Fundraising Analytics, is to lead the design, development and implementation of fundraising based solutions and services that support fundraising analytics, benchmarking, and surveys for University Development division. Provides proactive and data-driven insights using Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that supports University Development leadership team decisions. This position manages a team of professionals: business/data analysts and BI developers providing standard and customized BI solutions. Will be required to challenge the status quo and spark program innovative thoughts to convert complex data findings into data visualizations. Works closely with the Development leadership team to define fundraisers' data analytics needs. Introduces industry best practices, comprehends industry systems capabilities, and the alignment with the strategic vision and the priorities of the Division within the University system. Conducts campaign performance analysis; develops strategic recommendations aimed at improving accuracy, and completeness of the data collection to support the fundraising campaign.
With a major focus on "data strategy", the Senior Director of Fundraising Analytics, will develop and execute plans for continuous data quality improvements that will allow for the implementation of sophisticated BI and performance management solutions that support the fundraising efforts individually, at all Campuses, Colleges, Unit levels and within the University system. Moreover, develops and maintains a comprehensive program for data management to facilitate the strategic use of University data sources, including student records, faculty & staff records, and parents records, using data warehouse technology, social media, and web and email communications with internal and external tracking and data collection systems.
Additionally, collaborates with the ASMT on initiatives to improve business processes that impact data integrity in advancement databases and related services, ensuring compliance with university policy and aligning with industry best practices and participates in change management initiatives to integrate best practices into current and future business processes.
Proactively engage with the Prospect Research team to ensure that the fundraising analytics facilitates a strategic, integrated program of prospect identification, research and donor management in support of Alumni engagement and fundraising goals.
Master's degree and 5 years relevant program experience, or bachelor's degree and 7 years relevant program experience.
Experience assessing needs and resources to recommend strategic Business Intelligence solutions.
Skills in managing multiple high priorities projects with great attention to detail and execution in a timely and efficient manner. Ability to travel overnight to conferences, work late evenings and weekends, as required.
Master's degree in Management Information Systems, or related field and 5 years of' experience in a Business Intelligence Development role with at least 2 years in a Higher Education Advancement environment, working with one of the leading Donor Management systems (Blackbaud CRM, Raiser's Edge, Abila Millennium, Ellucian Advance) and with experience gathering requirements for fundraising analytics and delivering solutions on leading BI and Analytics platforms (Tableau, MS BI Stacks, VA Qlik).
Good understanding of Ralph Kimble datawarehousing concepts, ETL development, and systems integrations.
Microsoft Business certification MCSE: Data Management and Analytics.
Tableau Desktop and Server certifications.
Quality Assurance and process improvement experience, Six Sigma certification.
Project management skills, PMP or CAPM.
Experience in a donor system conversion project.
Experience with constituent segmentation and predictive analytics related to donor acquisition, cultivation and retention.
