Qualifications:

An American Library Association (ALA)-accredited master’s degree is required.

Applicants must have a working knowledge and direct experience with integrated library systems and other library technologies along with a record of successful implementation and management of technology within a library setting.

A broad range of library experience is preferred, preferably in an academic setting.

Applicants must have demonstrated skills in supervising library staff as well as effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.

 

Duties:

The Technology and Access Services Librarian provides leadership for innovative information technologies and digital initiatives. The incumbent will supervise Circulation and Reserves at two campus libraries. In this role, the position will require shared time between the Rome and Utica campuses. As a collaborative member of the librarian team, the Technology and Access Services Librarian will provide reference services and instruction, in person and virtually, on both campuses. The incumbent will also contribute to the development and collection of information resources as liaison to assigned academic areas.

Responsibilities of the Technology and Access Services Librarian include, but are not limited to:

Administers the integrated library system (ExLibris ALEPH), and cloud-based technologies;

Integrates library technologies into the advancement of library goals;

Recommends technical standards, policies, and new technological initiatives;

Assists library staff with the effective use of a wide variety of computer and Web-based applications;

Continually seeks ways to improve efficiency and promote innovation in all matters related to Access Services;

Compiles statistics, analyzes data, and prepares reports relating to areas of responsibility;

Monitors technological developments and practices in the field via professional development, vendor contacts, and communication with other libraries;

Other duties as assigned by the Director of College Libraries.
