Job Summary/Basic Function: The Financial Analyst II, under direction, develops financial models, develops and maintains statistical models, and prepares projections, analyzes variances, and reports findings. Prepare reports and financial presentations.
Work Hours: Typically Monday through Friday; 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.; May work beyond normal office hours and weekends.

Develops, documents, and distributes budget guidelines and budget instructions for preparation of the annual budget. Provides training to university employees on budget preparation. Prepares complex revenue forecasts. Assists the Director of Budget to compile, analyze, and present campus wide budget requests for approval by the President through the University Resources Commission and VPBA.
Develops financial models to support strategic and programmatic goals. Researches and analyzes data in support of strategic goals
Responsible for the development and preparation of management and performance reports for use by departments and/or executive management. Determines financial analysis development and the appropriate format and content of reports and presentations. Reviews financial reports to identify revisions or improvements. Develops and maintains statistical models to perform revenue and expense forecasting Provides support to other departments regarding financial analysis and reporting.
Oversees the monitoring and corrections of budget balances by account. Reviews and approves/denies all Departmental Budget Transfer requests, Position Management Requisitions and Employee Payroll Action documents. Ensure GL/SL reconciliations are being performed to prevent negative cash balances. Regularly monitors and provides reports on SSCH to ensure actual revenue collections meet estimates.
Reviews service rate studies and determines if rates are reasonable and in compliance.
Maintains Business Object templates and reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given for at least a Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
Necessary Qualifications: Three years of related experience in accounting, finance, budget and/or analytical services.
Preferred Qualifications: Work experience with Higher Education budget management.

Documentable above average computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, and Outlook). Use of pivot tables will be critical.
Certified Public Accountant. Experience with FAMIS, B/P/P, Banner, Cognos, relational databases, Business Objects, and SQL programming.
