The Department of African American Studies at Princeton University invites applications from junior scholars focusing on the history of the Caribbean or greater Black Atlantic world. The time period and areas of specialization are open; however, we welcome applications from candidates focusing on Hispanophone, Francophone, or Lusophone regions and/or taking comparative approaches. Candidates should be prepared to offer both undergraduate lecture courses and more specialized upper-level seminars. Candidates should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, abstract of dissertation or book, a writing sample of no more than 30 pages, and three letters of recommendation.
