As Title IX Coordinator, this position coordinates University Title IX efforts including the development, implementation, and monitoring of appropriate policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state law in the sexual misconduct arena. This position represents the University on Title IX related matters within the University and to external agencies and works with University Communications staff to inform the public about the University's Title IX efforts. This position coordinates compliance with reporting obligations imposed by applicable state and federal laws.
This position provides leadership and direction for all Title IX activities and personnel. This position consults with relevant policy making bodies and University executives for the purpose of advising, clarifying, and identifying necessary actions to: eliminate sex and/or gender based discrimination in all educational programs and activities and ensures that access to facilities, opportunities, and resources is gender equitable throughout all campuses.
This position oversees prompt, effective, and equitable intake, investigation, processing, issuing of findings of fact, and timely resolution of all instances of sex/gender discrimination made known to responsible employees and/or reported by students, faculty, employees, third parties, or by members of the broader community. This position develops, implements, and coordinates campus and/or school based strategic efforts aimed at the prevention of sexual violence and other forms of sex and/or gender based discrimination.
Master's degree (or higher) and four years of experience or a Bachelor's degree and six years of experience. Ability to inform and advise external agencies and University leadership regarding Title IX compliance. Experience researching, interpreting, and applying Federal, State, and local laws and guidance, in order resolve questions, problems, or concerns. Ability to conduct and oversee investigations and ensure timely resolutions. Experience dealing with crises and managing sensitive information. Ability to create and monitor policies and initiatives, amending them as needed, in order to support the organization's mission. Experience providing subject matter training to diverse audiences and public speaking. Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or equivalent software.
Juris Doctorate is preferred
