Job Description Summary:
Direct the Accounting function of the University.

Specific Duties:

Management of accounting function in the general ledger, and related sub-ledgers. Financial statement preparation and analysis for including but not limited to the Board of Trustees, Senior Management, Creditors, and Rating Agencies. Preparation of annual audit work papers. Management of the annual audit and work with outside auditors. Work with University tax accountants to prepare the University’s annual 990 and 590 tax reports. Assist in the financial internal control development, implementation, and assessment. Work with accounting operational units with Federal and State legislative compliance. Assist with training of University community members in internal controls and Federal/State legislative compliance. Complete various annual financial reports and surveys. Additional tasks as assigned by the Associate Vice President of Finance.



Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must have received a Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting related field with at least 5 years of experience in non-profit accounting, 3 years of computer experience (i.e. Microsoft office, spreadsheets, etc.), and 4 years of supervisory experience. Applicant must have a strong understanding of all aspects of Non-profit Accounting through Financial Statement preparation, as well as experience in preparation of data for the Federal form 990.

Preferred Qualifications:
It is preferred that the applicant have Higher Education experience.
