Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, the Assistance Director assists with the day to day operations of the Central Services Financial Aid team and overall compliance for federal, state and institutional programs. Other key areas include supervision of Financial Aid Specialists, training, outreach, Gainful Employment, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and cross training office personnel.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working in a culturally competent environment and the ability to effectively work with employees, faculty, vendors, board members, and community members having diverse backgrounds.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities may be helpful.


Education and experience: A combination of formal education and work experience necessary for the rigors of the position, such as a Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, economics or related field, and five years' experience in federal aid programs. Ideal candidates may have experience in direct Lending, federal grants and campus-based aid.

Special Skills or abilities related to position: Strong knowledge of current financial aid regulations, proficient in PC applications tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong analytical and customer service skills; bilingual Spanish skills helpful. Experience in Ellucian Colleague Financial Aid preferable.
