Biology Lab instructor
The Department of Science at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College seeks to hire a Biology Lab Instructor. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position. The successful candidate will hold at least a Masters degree in biology, wildlife biology, or environmental science. Experience in laboratory instruction, preparation and maintenance is desirable. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and be able to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students and faculty. The successful candidate will be a strongly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a firm commitment to excellence in teaching. Position is open until filled.
Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is a residential state college located in Tifton, Georgia, named one of the best 100 small towns in America. The college offers associate and baccalaureate degrees and has an approximate enrollment of 3400.
The main responsibilities are to teach labs for introductory biology, environmental science, and/or other biology laboratory courses as needed. The Instructor will coordinate with other faculty, maintain and edit the laboratory manuals, and proctor laboratory practical exams. The new hire will assist in supervising student laboratory assistants and manage purchasing of supplies and materials. The new hire will maintain an orderly, clean, and safe laboratory environment and demonstrate good lab safety practice.
The successful candidate will hold at least a Masters in biology, wildlife biology, or environmental science. Evidence of successful teaching laboratory courses at a primarily undergraduate is required.
