The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) prides itself in offering students an outstanding learning experience that couples academic rigor with practical knowledge. In order to offer students the opportunity to learn from professionals in their field of study, GWSB seeks applicants with significant
professional experience, who are interested in teaching courses or facilitating sections of courses on an individual, pay-per course basis across our undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Courses taught by part-time faculty complement those taught by full-time faculty with the expectation that part-time faculty will bring significant professional experiences into the classroom.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Synchronous Section Leaders (SSLs) work in our online programs under the direction of a course's lead instructor. SSLs facilitate about 10 hours of synchronous online sessions with 15 students, interact online with these students asynchronously throughout the semester, and following the rubric provided by the course's lead instructor, do all grading of their section(s) students' assignments. SSLs meet weekly with the lead instructor to receive specific direction for achieving the course's design goals for the upcoming week. In many cases, the same individual serves as an SSL for multiple sections of the same course.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Strong communication ability in English.
2. Experience and skills in steering class discussions.
3. The discipline to follow a grading rubric in a consistent manner.
4. Sufficient technological capability to manipulate group video discussions and a learning management system.
5. Technological availability to students through different media and equipment (e.g., both synchronous and asynchronous discussions) on multiple occasions throughout each week.
