Position Information: This position serves as the subject matter expert on leaves such as FMLA, PDL, ADA, Worker' Comp, Sabbatical, Military/Governmental Leaves, Change of Duty Station, etc., for clients in the CNAS Share Service Center (CNAS SSC). Interprets leave policies in accordance with applicable UC Policies and consults with Central Human Resources or Academic Personnel for guidance on complicated cases. Counsels employees and supervisors/faculty on appropriate leave type and determines leave qualification accordingly. Follows through with clients and monitors leave tracking ensuring receipt of relevant documentation. Coordinates with Central HR for any return to work accommodation requests.

Minimum Requirements: Acquiring knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area.
Possesses basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs and organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.
Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.
Knowledge of the university's Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and other related business software programs and systems.
Has analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
Has working knowledge of other areas of HR.
Knowledge of policies for faculty, staff and students relating to leaves.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Payroll and Personnel System (PPS).

Knowledge of UCR's Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and other related programs and systems.

Knowledge of federal and California state laws related to personal and other types of leaves.

Knowledge of academic personnel leave administration for senate and non-senate academic employees.

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
