Position Information: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the responsibilities of the Staff Research Associate include: Supervise and train graduate students in administration of standardized educational assessments in both individual and group settings with middle school students (Grades 6 - 8) who are receiving special education services. Independently lead and manage multi-faceted testing procedures (both group and individual) for the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) grant funded research.
Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in Education and minimum of 5 years experience in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated skills in creativity, flexibility, adaptability, initiative, planning, and organization.
Demonstrated experience in supervising, teamwork, and leadership.
Demonstrated professional, managerial, and technical knowledge.
Demonstrated skills in accuracy and precision of work, responsiveness, follow-up, reliability, and decision-making.
Demonstrated skills in prioritizing, productivity, and timeliness.
Strong communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate a message in written and oral expression.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others with tact and diplomacy.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of reading acquisition and improvement.
Demonstrated excellent computer skills, especially with Word, Excel, Access, SPSS, and SAS.
Demonstrated skills to independently select, set up, adjust, modify, train others, and administer a wide-range of standardized and researcher-developed measures with precision and accuracy.
Knowledge of safe procedures and professional interactions with adults and students.
Knowledge of local school districts and general working structure of middle school campus and class environs.
Scientific abstract research and diligent writing aptitude.
