Systems Administrator, Position #56385
This position is primarily responsible for administering and maintaining central university enterprise Microsoft technologies including, but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft Skype for Business, Microsoft SharePoint services, Microsoft SQL Server services, Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager, and Office 365 services.
This position will also be responsible for:
Installation, configuration and monitoring of computer hardware and operating system software for enterprise and departmental computing environments managed by Information Technology Services (ITS).
Administration of both physical and virtual servers.
Ensuring the systems are operational and available.
Perform necessary maintenance, security enhancements, and optimizations of the systems.
Collect and analyze usage and performance data; diagnose problems and take appropriate action anytime, day or night.
Participate in initiation, planning, and execution of projects with other IT administrators, staff and departments.
Provides technical advice and consultation to ITS staff and the FSU community regarding complex computing problems and applications.
Shares in responsibility for responding to Help Desk tickets.
Develop and document procedures and processes.
Shares responsibilities for providing support 24x7.
Other duties as necessary.
Bachelor's degree and two years of full-time experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of full-time experience. (Note: post-high school education/experience can substitute at the comparable rate.)
Experience working with Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 R2 servers.
Experience administering Active Directory 2008 R2 or 2012 R2.
Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience utilizing problem solving and technical skills.
Experience documenting existing and new processes.
Experience or knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field.
Experience administering within O365 environment.
Systems administration in enterprise Microsoft server environment (minimum 4 years).
Experience in PowerShell scripting.
Experience administering Systems Center Configuration Manager 2012.
Knowledge and experience with Office 365.
Advanced troubleshooting skills.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with IT staff, management and other personnel.
