Course Description:

COM 115 Fundamentals of Public Speaking
Principles of public speaking. Preparation and delivery of speeches. Emphasis on informing and persuading audiences.

About the University:
LNU-MSU College of International Business is located in the coastal city of Dalian in Liaoning Province of northeast China. It is an educational cooperation between Missouri State University of the USA and Liaoning Normal University of China.

 

The partnership that founded the LNU-MSU College of International Business started in June 2000. LNU-MSU CIB offers a two-year AA degree in General Studies and a four-year BS degree in General Business. The program is available to Chinese and international students alike.

 

The program in Dalian is staffed by qualified instructors who have been vetted by both Liaoning Normal University and Missouri State University. Since the program is an English immersion program, all courses are taught in English with most of the faculty comprised of native English speakers. Not only are the faculty qualified but also our program itself, being an extension of Missouri State University, is accredited by the AACSB, the most prestigious accrediting agency in the world for colleges of business administration.
 

The program in Dalian has formal approval from the governing bodies of both universities - the Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China and the MSU Board of Governors in the United States. The goal of this educational partnership is to increase cultural and educational exchange, and to promote friendship and understanding between the United States and China.

About the Job:

Full-time faculty teach 15 lecture hours and hold 5 office hours per week. Faculty typically teach five sections of a single course. Interaction with students outside the classroom is encouraged.

 

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

12,240-14,280 CNY (RMB) / month (after tax).

Contracts are 12 months, August through July, with 12 paid months.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in the subject (or a closely related field) the applicant is applying to teach

  • Two or more years of work experience (teaching experience at the University or College level preferred)

  • Experience with students for whom English is a second language is helpful, but not required
