Springfield College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Dance position within the Visual and Performing Arts Department. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester plus producing one dance concert each semester, student advising and recruitment, program development, and co-curricular dance programming. Courses taught may include: Contemporary Dance, Jazz Dance, Ballet, Laban Movement Analysis, Choreography, Dance Appreciation, and Hip Hop.

The Visual and Performing Arts Department is a collaborative and vibrant department that offers major programs in Studio Arts, Computer Graphics/Digital Arts, Art Therapy, Art Education, and Dance, as well as minors in Art, Arts in the Community, Dance, Music, and Theater Arts. The Department strives to recruit and retain a highly qualified and diverse faculty and staff to enrich the educational experience for all students. All faculty are working artists and/or researchers.


Successful candidates must have an earned MFA or doctoral degree in dance from a nationally accredited dance program and provide evidence of strong teaching skills. Preferred qualifications include: professional body of work as a performer and/or choreographer, participation in professional organizations such as NDEO and ACDA, demonstrated work with community based arts organizations and working with diverse populations.
