The University of the Pacific seeks an exceptional leader to assume the mantle of Dean of University College as Pacific seeks to expand its influence across innovative pedagogies and through servicing greater non-traditional student populations. The successful candidate will be a creative, dynamic and visionary leader with experience developing credit and non-credit programs as well as a wealth of educational innovation experience to bear across Pacific―someone who will build on the accomplishments of the past and help Pacific reach new heights of excellence in contemporary pedagogy, interdisciplinarity and adult student programs and services.
The University of the Pacific, founded in 1851 as California’s first chartered university, is one of the West’s most distinctive, student-centered national universities. Pacific is a dynamic, independent, comprehensive university offering undergraduate, first professional and graduate degrees to over 6,250 students in nine schools on three campuses. Over the last five years, the University has made strides in seeking to unify and integrate the three campuses. The undergraduate program and a number of graduate programs are located in Stockton, a diverse city of over 300,000 people, and part of the beautiful central valley of California bordered by 1,000 miles of delta waterways. The San Francisco campus holds the Dugoni School of Dentistry, along with programs in audiology and data science. The Sacramento Campus holds the McGeorge School of Law, along with graduate programs in education, Physician Assistant Studies and will begin to graduate studies in data science and one of Pacific’s degree completion programs, Organizational Behavior, in Fall 2017. The Stockton campus is 45 minutes from the Sacramento campus, and 90 minutes from the San Francisco campus. For additional information, please visit Pacific's website at www.pacific.edu.
